Who We Are
The Nova Scotia Lobster Council is a non-profit body that advocates on behalf of all levels of the lobster industry, including fishermen, buyers, brokers, exporters, processors, shippers, wholesalers and retailers.
We are a member-driven organization committed to representing, coordinating and promoting Nova Scotia’s lobster industry to the benefit of all our members.
Our Mission
The Nova Scotia Lobster Council’s mission:
- To be a strong and effective advocate for Nova Scotia’s lobster industry
- To promote and protect Nova Scotia’s lobster industry’s interests domestically and abroad
- To generate recognition of Nova Scotia’s lobster industry and increased export sales through effective marketing efforts.
What We Do
The Nova Scotia Lobster Council:
- Monitors ongoing and emerging regulatory, trade, transportation and environmental issues and develop effective responses to key issues affecting Nova Scotia’s lobster industry.
- Promotes the interests of Nova Scotia’s lobster industry to all levels of government as well as abroad.
- Develops, coordinates and directs marketing initiatives to promote Nova Scotia’s lobster industry to Canadian and international markets with the aim of securing increased exports.
- Leads research projects, media relations and communications initiatives.
